The joyous atmosphere of welcoming Eid al-Fitr is often used by irresponsible people to commit fraud. Various fraud modes have sprung up, targeting people who are careless in the midst of Eid euphoria. Therefore, it is important for us to increase vigilance so as not to become victims of fraud that can tarnish the moment of friendship.

The Illegal Financial Activity Eradication Task Force (PASTI Task Force) once again reminds the public to be more careful of various modes of fraud in the financial sector during the month of Ramadan and ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1446 H. Some of these fraud modes include:

  1. Illegal online loan offers that promise fast processing to meet pre-Eid needs
  2. Illegal investment offers that promise huge profits in a short period of time
  3. Phishing that lures victims to provide personal information or data through links.
  4. Impersonation or fraud that uses the identity of a licensed institution to trick victims
  5. Part-time job offers

In connection with this, the public is asked to:

  1. Be vigilant and not click on links that come from unclear sources
  2. Think logically about all offers promising quick profits without risk
  3. Do not provide personal information to unknown parties
  4. Ensure the legality of the parties offering a financial product

In the period January to February 2025, the PASTI Task Force has found 508 illegal online lending entities on a number of sites and applications as well as 28 personal loan offering content (pinpri) that has the potential to harm the public and violate the provisions on the dissemination of personal data.

The PASTI Task Force urges people who are victims of fraud to immediately submit reports through the IASC (Indonesia Anti-Scam Center) website at http://iasc.ojk.go.id by attaching related data and evidence documents.

People who find information or offers of investment and online loans that are suspicious or suspected of being illegal or provide the lure of high (illogical) returns / interest can immediately report them to Contact OJK with telephone number 157, WA (081 157 157 157), email: konsumen@ojk.go.id or email: satgaspasti@ojk.go.id.
